As the largest and deepest station in the MTR network, HKU Station is a station on the Island Land which is located in Shek Tong Tsui neighbor of the Western District and is named after The University of Hong Kong.
As far as I know, it is the only one station that names after a university, therefore, we decided to figure out what made it unique. Different from University Station which serves The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is notorious, at least to me, for zero-platform-screen-door and HUGE! GAP! between the train and platform, HKU Station makes platforms safer by being equipped with plat screen form, however, the gap is by no means narrow. Therefore, be careful, everyone! I know you don’t want your phone to fall onto the rails.

What we loved most about the train which heads for HKU Station is that passengers can kill time by watching advertisements posted on the tunnel or news broadcasted on the train while they can only fixed their eyes on their phones on the East Rail Line (we will discuss what people do for killing time on metros in later blogs).

We felt so disappointed when noticing that the guide service in HKU Station was broken since it remained mute no matter how hard we tried to make it work. How can blind people find their way when they can’t find where the guide service is? Thumb Down, HKU Station!

Personally, we were impressed by the aisle of this station, telling everyone about the history and important events of The University of Hong Kong. Extremely beautiful! Just wonder when will the University Station post pictures of the CUHK instead of advertisement.

As mentioned, HKU Station is the largest and deepest station in the MTR network, so it is impossible for us to walk of the station. Instead, we take the elevator. And as Brother Ji tells us, the roundish man in the picture who has a fringe of hair around his balding and mottle scalp and who is definitely drunk, HKU Station is the very first station using elevator to link the platform and exit.
